Capacity Developers for Africa

Legal

Terms & Conditions

These terms govern all bookings with Capacity Developers for Africa (CDFA), including public short courses, masterclasses, in-house programmes and consultancy engagements.

1. About us

Capacity Developers for Africa (CDFA) ("CDFA", "we", "us") is a capacity building, skills development and training institute established in 2012, delivering professional short courses, masterclasses and consultancy across Africa, the Middle East, Europe and Asia. Our registered address is Millennium Blvd, Strubens Valley, Johannesburg, South Africa.

2. Bookings and registration

A booking is confirmed once we receive your completed registration and written confirmation from our training team. Places are allocated in order of receipt and are subject to availability at the chosen venue and dates.

Where a class reaches capacity, CDFA may offer the next available date or an alternative venue. Attendance is limited to registered delegates.

3. Fees and payment

Course fees cover training delivery, materials, certificates of completion and refreshments as stated on the course page, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Travel, accommodation and visa costs are the delegate's responsibility.

Fees are quoted per delegate and are payable in advance. Invoices must be settled before the first day of training unless a credit arrangement has been agreed. CDFA reserves the right to withhold attendance where fees remain unpaid.

4. Cancellations and substitutions

Delegates may cancel a confirmed booking by written notice (email or WhatsApp). The following applies unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • More than 14 days before the start date: no charge, or a full credit toward a future course.
  • 8โ€“14 days before the start date: 25% of the course fee is payable.
  • 7 days or fewer, or non-attendance: the full course fee is payable.
  • Substitutions with a colleague of equivalent seniority are welcome at no cost at any time before the start date.

Where CDFA cancels or reschedules a course, delegates are offered a full refund, a free transfer to the new date, or a credit toward an alternative course.

5. In-house and consultancy engagements

In-house and consultancy work is governed by the written proposal or agreement issued for that engagement. Where no separate agreement exists, these terms apply, and a 50% deposit confirms the engagement with the balance due on completion.

6. Intellectual property

All course materials, workbooks, frameworks and content remain the intellectual property of CDFA or its licensors. Materials are provided for the personal professional use of registered delegates and may not be reproduced, resold or distributed without written consent.

7. Liability

CDFA exercises reasonable care in delivering its programmes. Our liability for any claim arising from a booking is limited to the course fee paid. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including travel or accommodation costs incurred for a rescheduled course.
